Born on 14 April 1935 in Heidenheim near Brenz, 1951 apprenticeship as wood carver in Kleinwalsertal, 1955 school for wood carving in Partenkirchen, 1960 own sculptor’s workshop in Kleinwalsertal, 1967 turning towards graphic design especially to woodcut, 1972 member of the Hans-Thoma-Gesellschaft’s group of artists, 1977 first own exhibition in “Städtischen Galerie Albstadt” (gallery of Albstadt).

Hannes Schneider was born on 24.06.1890 in Stuben am Arlberg and died on 24.04.1955 in North Conway, United States. Since 1907 he worked as ski instructor in St. Anton am Arlberg and founded his own ski school “Albergschule” in 1922. With this school as well as the instructional films of Arnold Fanck, Schneider propagated the stem-turn and a new style of skiing adapted to the alpine terrain. Thereby, he made the Alberg region an international centre of skiing. He also took part in ski movies and after his migration to the USA (1983) he founded the ski centre North Conway in New Hampshire.

Prince-bishop of Sitten, cardinal, important bishop of the early 16th century. Schiner was born around 1465 in Mühlebach, canton Valais as son of the farmer and carpenter Peter Schiner and Katharina Zmitweg. He dies on 1. October 1522 in Rome.
